Asante Kotoko: The aim is to win the Premier League title and not golden boot – Franck Mbella Etouga

Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Franck Mbella Etouga says his sole focus is helping the club win the ongoing Ghana Premier League title but added that winning the goal king will be a bonus.

The Cameroonian forward has been a livwire for the Porcupine Warriors, scoring 18 league goals propelling the Porcupine Warriors to the top of the league table with 55 points, nine points above second-placed Bechem United.

Kotoko defeated WAFA 1-0 on match week 27 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Saturday to end their winless run.

“We are focused on winning the league and that is my objective”, Mbella Etouga said after the game against WAFA.

“Goal king is bonus. I believe I will score more goals with help of my colleagues.”

Etouga leads the golden boot race in the Premier League with 18 goals with Ashanti Gold’s Yaw Annor second with 16 goals after 27 matches played so far.

With seven matches left to play, coach Prosper Narteh’s side must win at least four to seal the league title.
