An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Nana Oduro Sarfo has revealed that plans are underway to ensure the Baba Yara Stadium is filled to its capacity for the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.
The Black Stars will host the Super Eagles on March 25 in the first leg before the return game on March 29.
The winner of the tie will book a place in the 2022 Mundial scheduled to be hosted in Qatar later this year.
“The Ghana Football Association has laid down a lot of measures to ensure we get the support for the Blackstars. I do not want to preempt but the GFA will meet the sports media in Kumasi, go on the radio and speak to the people to calm nerves,” he told Precise FM.
“Some people do not know how psychologically utterances affect situations. The hatred for the Blackstars are born out of a lot of issues, sometimes not because of the team itself but hatred for some people who surround the team but I entreat all to erase that hatred for the betterment of the team,” he added.
The Black Stars will open camp on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Stadium as they seek to return to the Mundial for the fourth time.
Meanwhile, the technical team of the Black Stars are yet to release the squad for the much anticipated game.
