Former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor over the past weekend stormed the Ashanti Region to engage with some local executives and grassroots members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The engagement with the party people is part of the NDC’s outreach programme that underlines the importance of the grassroots of the party.

Taking to his Facebook page to share pictures of his visit to the Ashanti Region, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor stressed that touching base with the grassroots of the party is always important and must be prioritised.

“Addressing the concerns of our branch and constituency executives is key to the NDC’s reorganization. In view of this, I was once again in the Ashanti Region over the weekend to interact with some local executives, as part of the NDC’s outreach program to local branches and constituencies. It is always important to touch base with our grassroots,” Dr. Duffuor shared on his Facebook page.

Although he is yet to make it official, the former Bank of Ghana Governor is said to be one of the top members of the NDC harbouring an ambition to become President of Ghana one day.

Already, he has disclosed that if given the chance to serve, he will contest the flagbearership position to lead the opposition NDC in the 2024 general elections.
