Nigeria names strong squad to finish Ghana in 2022 World Cup playoff

Nigeria head coach Augustine Egueavon has named a strong squad to face Ghana in the 2022 World Cup playoff.

The Super Eagles will travel to Ghana for the first leg on March 25, 2022 to be played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before hosting the Black Stars at home on March 29 in Abuja.

Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo and Napoli striker Victor Oshimen make return to the Super Eagles team for the crucial encounter after missing the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Leicester City’s duo Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal have all been named in the squad for the game.

The three-time AFCON champion are looking to beat Ghana to the World Cup ticket in this two-legged encounter.
