Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has revealed that Thomas Partey is being assessed ahead of their weekend fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Ghana international suffered an injury in the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
Partey, who was visibly in pain was substituted in the 74th minute and was replaced by Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Arteta is hoping the 28-year-old regain fitness as they fight for a place in the top four.
“Right thigh. Thomas is currently being assessed ahead of the weekend after aggravating his thigh during Monday night’s match at Crystal Palace,” Arteta told the official club website.
Partey has been a livewire for the Gunners in the ongoing season making 36 appearances in all competitions and scoring two goals in the process.
The Ghana deputy captain helped the Black Stars reach the World Cup fourth time after scoring in the 1-1 drawn game against Nigeria in the playoff games.
