Sensational UK-based Ghanaian afro gospel artiste Joseph Matthew also known as JM has revealed what late astute broadcaster Docta Cann asked him to buy for him when coming to Ghana from the UK days before his demise.
Docta Cann who was the host of ‘Showbiz Xtra ‘ passed away at a private hospital in Accra on Friday, March 25, 2022, after a short illness, his management wrote in a statement.
The late Cann was the first radio presenter to play Joseph Matthew’s hit songs “Nyame Ye, Note Alone, My Story’ and ‘The Name’ on air.
Reacting to the sudden demise of the late astute broadcast journalist, Joseph Matthew said: “I am very shocked that Cann has died. Just a few days ago, I was chatting with him on Whatsapp and he told me to buy him a Bible when I am coming to Ghana. I was shocked that, of all the things in the UK, Cann asked me to get him a Bible.”
According to Joseph Matthew,” Cann would forever remain in my heart for contributing immensely to my music career.”
Joseph Matthew is set to release his debut single track dubbed ‘Blessed’ in two weeks’ time and hinted that, “I will personally dedicate the ‘Blessed’ song to Cann”.
The late Docta Cann who was the host of Happy FM’s weekend entertainment show ‘Showbiz Xtra’, was born to Mr. Francis Sylvester Cann and Mrs. Gloria Ofosua.
Doctor Cann hails from Saltpond in the Central Region and was married to Mrs. Dorcas Cann, whom he has four children with – three boys and an 8-month old baby girl.
